Yeah sometimes life just seems to go from one sucky thing to another. We are all entitled to our own little pity party from time to time I reckon, as long as we don't get too bogged down by our own misfortunes.

If You Got a Call or Visit From The Elders How Would You Deal With Them?
by minimus injust curious..

Apostasy, atheism, inactivity: everything's a step down to them. They have all the answers and we're blinded by Satan or caught up in "the world".
So glad I'm moving next month. Jws won't find me.

Same way I always do: small talk, how are things for you, my life is great but you caught me in the middle of something so can't chat. I'm a slippery fish when it comes to their sly questions: I have years of experience in evading questions I don't want to answer. Learned from the wtbts aww yeah. The most important thing I let them know is that my life has never been better!

Private meetings banned??
by franticfran ini have just spoken to a brother who is part of a group of single brothers and sisters who meet together once a week to discuss bible topics and he has been told by and elder that the organisation "banned" these private meetings years ago.
i told him i remember that article but he is adamant that the society would never do that (!
) now i am fairly sure i remember that article whether it was in a km or one of the mags i cant recall but i am sure i remember them saying we needed nothing more than the food that the slave class provided (another means to control us),does anyone have the details of that article because i have said i will find it and let him have it.

That's just pedantic. I always used to bring external examples and that into my answers and the jws appreciated it because it was a bit different and more relevant to the congregation. Some people are just big power trippers.

If you think child abusers can simply repent and/or be rehabilitated....

Gramme is the traditional spelling of gram for my American buddies. A gram is about 1/31 of an ounce. A 9 gram lead bullet to the brain is an effective form of execution.

ugh...now I'm getting mad
by Angus Beef inventing.... hubby visited with sil (with gotee intact), got the wt don't approve speech and the 'we've been missing you at the meetings".. he gave all the excuses he could for why we weren't there.
i'm at the point of just telling them the truth as why... but we will be giving up our grandchildren.
i just don't know if i can do it, give up the grandkids.

The wtbts is the master of evading the difficult questions. You have learned from them, so evade the hell out of them. Worked for me. Whenever the hounders came I'd talk about work, pets, family, ask about their families etc, and when they'd say, everyone miss you at the hall I'd just say, ' yeah well...' And move on, or say, "people at the hall know my address and have my phone number so if they miss me they know where to find me."
Don't mention doubts or ttatt, especially if there are two of them. Evade anything they say to lead you into that sort of discussion. Don't answer the gb question. I refused to answer it so they couldn't do anything. When the term 'apostate' came to the lips of one hounder I told him I'd been christened Anglican so was an apostate Anglican. Evade in such ways. Eventually they'll get sick of you.

That's probably the real reason they got rid of the book study: it was pretty much a private gathering where small groups could discuss the bible. I remember the book study as my favourite meeting because it was close to home and much more informal and relaxed. You could discuss things in that group of 10-15 people that wouldn't be discussed at the hall. This informal environment must have been a perceived threat to the Org.
